Introduction
Welcome to UConn Gives 2026 GiveCampus Page-Building Guide!
This year, each school, college, and regional campus will receive editing access to their GiveCampus page(s) through an assigned point‑of‑contact. This individual will serve as the primary page editor leading up to—and during—UConn Gives.
GiveCampus uses a tiered structure to organize UConn Gives:
- Tier 1: The main UConn Gives landing page.
- Tier 2: Unit-level pages (schools, colleges, regional campuses) that sit directly under Tier 1.
- Tier 3: Optional “child pages” requested by units that sit under a unit’s Tier 2 page.
Tier 2 Pages have been created by Foundation staff using approved unit appeal language and default funds. Points‑of‑contact will receive access to begin editing their Tier 2 page(s) during the week of February 16.
If a school, college, or regional campus would like to create a Tier 3 Page to feature a unique fund or initiative, requests are due to Jonathan Wilson at jwilson@foundation.uconn.edu by March 4. Foundation staff will build the initial structure for the page; however, points‑of‑contact are responsible for creating and reviewing the content, ensuring accuracy, and preparing the page for launch.
Additional GiveCampus Administrators may be added by request to assist with page edits, subject to Foundation approval. Contact Jonathan Wilson at jwilson@foundation.uconn.edu to request an additional administrator for your page(s).
All pages must be completed and ready for Foundation review by April 1.
The Foundation’s final review will ensure the page is functioning as intended, but page builders are responsible for ensuring content is proofed and compliant with university or unit brand/editorial guidelines.
Getting Access to GiveCampus
Step 1: Points-of-Contact will receive an email from GiveCampus indicating they’ve been granted Administrator access to GiveCampus for University of Connecticut.
Step 2: If you are new to GiveCampus, click the highlighted link in instruction “1.” to create your GiveCampus account.
Note: If you have an existing GiveCampus account, click the highlighted link next to instruction “2.” to access your account and log in, then skip to the “Editing Your Page” section on this guide.
You will not be able to access and edit your pages without a GiveCampus account.
Step 3: You will receive a confirmation message once you have completed your registration. In the email, click “Confirm My Account.” Once confirmed, you will receive a third email welcoming you to GiveCampus.
Editing Your Page
Step 1: Once logged in, click your profile icon on the top right. From the drop‑down menu, select “University of Connecticut.”

Step 2: In the left‑hand navigation menu, click “Campaigns.” Then select the “Draft” tab. Under this tab, you will see this year’s campaign. Click “Settings” to access the tiered landing pages.

Step 3: To edit a page, click the pencil icon on the right side of the page name. Your Tier 2 page will appear first, with any Tier 3 pages listed below. Clicking a page name will open a preview.

Step 4: Begin building or editing your page!
Note: All pages must include the following at the bottom of their “About” section:
“The UConn Foundation (EIN 06-6070722) is an independent, not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that exists to support the educational, scientific, cultural, research, and recreational objectives of the University of Connecticut.”
Note: Please do not make changes to the “Relevant Gifts” section. Foundation staff will ensure that this section is working as intended.

Note: On Tier 3 pages, please do not edit the “Basics – Parent Tier 2 Landing Page” section. This associates your Tier 3 page with your Tier 2 page.

Custom Content Sections
Custom Content Sections allow you to create unique, engaging material for your donors. You can use these sections to highlight special initiatives, tell stories, display curated social media content, provide campaign‑specific FAQs, or share other compelling information with your donor community.
When you create a Custom Content Section, a new custom header will appear as its own tab alongside the “About” tab in your campaign’s navigation. You may name this section however you wish.
To create your own Custom Content Section, uncheck the box labeled:
“Show the Tier 1/2 Landing Page’s custom content section(s) on this landing page.”
Note: By unchecking this box, Foundation‑created Custom Content Sections will no longer appear on your Tier 2 or Tier 3 pages. The Foundation will continue using its own Custom Content Sections to share promotions and updates throughout UConn Gives. These will still be visible on the Tier 1 (general) UConn Gives landing page, but not on your subpages.

Section-by-Section Breakdown
Basics:
Landing Page Name – For Tier 2 pages, this field is already set as the name of your school, college, or campus and should remain unchanged to support consistent navigation. For Tier 3 pages, you may request the name you would like displayed.
Landing Page URL – Customize your page’s URL by adding a unique name or phrase to the end of the link.
Goal Type – Select whether your goal is based on a dollar amount or a donor count.
Goal – Select the fundraising goal you want to set for UConn Gives.
If you need assistance identifying ambitious but attainable goals, reach out to Jonathan at jwilson@foundation.uconn.edu.
Summary – This section does not apply to your campaign. Any information entered here will not appear on your public‑facing page.
Relevant Gifts:
This section determines which funds are included when counting donors to your page (you will have selected these and sent them to us in advance). The UConn Foundation manages this setting, and we ask that you do not make any changes to ensure your page functions correctly.
About:
The About section allows you to introduce your school, college, or campus and present information that best reflects your unit. This space is flexible and can be used to highlight priorities, feature important funds, share achievements, or draw attention to opportunities for donor engagement.
These suggestions are offered as possible directions you may choose to take. You are not expected to include all of them, as that would create a section that is longer than intended. Select the elements that align with the messaging and marketing approach you want for your page.
Ideas for Your About Section:

- A brief introduction to your school, college, or campus
- Your academic focus, mission, or defining strengths
- Notable departments, programs, or areas of study

- Any strategic or high-impact funds for this year’s campaign

- Strategic projects or innovative efforts in your unit
- Areas where donor support can help accelerate progress
Accomplishments & Points of Pride
- Recent achievements by students, faculty, or programs
- Awards, recognitions, or milestones
- Examples of meaningful impact or areas of distinction

- Conditions, deadlines, or participation goals tied to these opportunities
- How donors can help unlock additional support
Why Support Matters
- How philanthropy advances your mission and goals
- The impact donor gifts have on your students, programs, or facilities
- The importance of donor participation in moving your unit forward
Vision & Direction
- Goals or priorities for the coming years
- Long-term plans or areas of growth
- How donor involvement contributes to your future direction
Visual Enhancements
- A landscape banner to make your About section more visually engaging
- Photos or graphics that reinforce your identity
All “About” sections must include the following statement:
“The UConn Foundation (EIN 06-6070722) is an independent, not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that exists to support the educational, scientific, cultural, research, and recreational objectives of the University of Connecticut.”
Custom Content Section:
Custom Header – Name your custom content section. This will appear as a header on your page as well as on the list of tabs at the top of your page.
Custom Content (Rich Text) – The Custom Content section is an optional space for Tier 2 pages. It functions similarly to an About section but is intended to be more focused and used only when you have a truly unique, high priority initiative that cannot fit appropriately in your About section. If you enable this feature, you will not see the Tier 1 (general) Custom Content that the Foundation posts during UConn Gives, including day of updates, Power Hour announcements, lastminute matches, and other campaign wide promotions.
Because Tier 1 content provides valuable visibility and engagement across the event, we recommend using Custom Content only in exceptional cases, such as a major unit specific match, challenge, or a time sensitive initiative that requires its own dedicated placement.
Embedding Third Party Widgets – This feature is a more advanced implementation option, designed for users who are comfortable working with custom embeds. It allows you to insert third‑party widgets directly into your page through the “Custom Content” section, which supports HTML embed codes for videos, images, and other interactive elements.
Landing Page Video/Image:
GiveCampus landing pages allow for customizable, high-impact visuals to drive engagement, supporting both video and image formats for campaigns. This will be front and center on your Tier 2 page. A 636×357 video is recommended for the best impact in showing off your page and all that your school, college, campus, or unit is about. They should be between 60 and 90 seconds.
If you’re unable to use or create a video for UConn Gives, you can instead use a 630×350 graphic or photo on your page.
Background Hero Image:
This 1920×1080 image appears at the top of the page behind the Landing Page Video/Image. This can be left as is with the Foundation-created image, or you can upload your preferred image.
Campaign Card Thumbnail:
This 600×400 is used to represent your unit on the Tier 1 (general) landing page. It is often the main entry point for your donors to view and learn more about your campaign. Avoid putting any writing on this image as your campaign name will appear on the card as an overlay.
Campaign Updates:
The Foundation will provide updates throughout UConn Gives. Please make sure this box is checked so that the updates can be seen on your page. If you plan to very active providing your own updates, you may leave this box unchecked.
Sharing:
Sharing Text – This is the default social media text for your donors that will auto populate when they share your page on social media.A short call to action that sells/markets your campaign is recommended. Donors can share at the top of the page underneath the “Give Now” button.
Sharing Hashtag – If your unit is using a specific hashtag for UConn Gives, enter it here. If not, we recommend using #UConnGives.
Default Advocacy Text – This is the default message that auto populates when donors share your link via text message. A short, more personal call to action that sells/markets your campaign is recommended. Donors can share at the top of the page underneath the “Give Now” button.
Donation Form:
Form Header – A brief, optional heading that appears at the top of the donation form after someone clicks your page’s “Give Now” button. Use this only if you want to provide a short, clear title or reminder connected to your page’s giving priority. (The general UConn Gives giving form will appear if you leave this blank.)
Form Subheader – An optional paragraph that displays directly beneath the form header. This space can offer a short message about the impact of supporting your unit or highlight any key points donors should know before completing their gift. Keep it concise, as donors see this immediately before giving. (The general UConn Gives giving form will appear if you leave this blank.)
Giving Form Background Image – You may upload a recognizable 1200×500 image that relates to your page here. This will appear in the background on the giving form after a donor clicks the “Give Now” button. (The general UConn Gives giving form will appear if you leave this blank.)
Payment Form Background Image – You may upload a recognizable 1200×500 image that relates to your page here. This will appear in the background on the payment form after a donor fills out the information on the giving form. (The general UConn Gives giving form will appear if you leave this blank.)
*You may use the same background image on both the giving form and the payment form.
Featured Matches and Challenges:
If your page has applicable matches or challenges, you can select them here to feature them at the top of your page’s Matches and Challenges section. You will not be able to do this until Foundation staff uploads the matches and challenges in early April.
Custom Header Logo:
Do not upload an image in this section. The UConn Foundation logo is displayed here and is legally required to indicate that this is a UConn Foundation fundraiser.
